What are the steps to start therapy?
The First Step – Intake and Case History:
The process begins by completing our comprehensive case history which will be reviewed by an autism client services specialist.
The intake and case history are designed to be a screening to determine individualized next steps for your child and family. This will include an overview of communication, sensory, behaviour, fine motor, gross motor, personal independence, play and social skills. A recommendation will be made based on the needs of the child and family. The recommendation will include the type and intensity of service recommended. Each child’s intervention program will be individualized based on their needs.
If your child does not have a diagnosis but is demonstrating red flags for Autism Spectrum Disorder, a developmental assessment will be recommended with a Psychologist or Developmental Paediatrician.
